You can always learn so much more from failure than you can from success.
So why is it that nobody talks about Failure?
In 2008, my business was significantly impacted by the collapse of Woolworths. A National ‘institution’ on the high street, that subsequently failed.
I’ve spent well over 4 years researching, not only the Woolworths collapse, but more than 150 other National Businesses that failed. And the findings were SHOCKING.
I have used this research, combined with my own knowledge and experience, along with case study examples from Businesses I’ve either coached, mentored or in some other way supported over the past 14 years to put together this highly topical and impactful Keynote.
“Most people think small, whereas, I think BIG; and that automatically gives me a great advantage” – Warren Buffett
Once I’d correlated all the research, I wanted to understand at what stage of a businesses growth, do the flaws I had identified first form. and when and why do we choose to ignore them?
Having now surveyed well over 100,000 Businesses, I was horrified to learn more than 80% of businesses possess at least one of the three most fundamental flaws we identified. My conclusions to this research showed that whilst we are taught much within our time in School, College, Academies and Universities. VERY few are ever taught HOW to run a progressively growing business!
What I’ll Share…
In this highly emotive, impactful and thought provoking Keynote, I challenge audiences to THINK BIG, and shows how thinking differently is crucial to achieving FAR more than they would otherwise have ever considered themselves capable.
I’ll share the devastating impact not having the 3 ESSENTIAL elements has on business as they SCALE, and how this results in their eventual downturn.
I’ll show the impact implementing these NOW can have on your future business success.
Testimony to this, is no less than 7 clients with whom I’ve coached to apply this learning into their businesses have gone on to become National Finalists at the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
Who is this for?
This is a MUST for SME (up to 250 employee’s) Business Owners who are ready to hit the accelerator and SCALE their already growing business.
Whilst there is LOTS to get through in this 45,60 or 90 min Keynote, it is also highly informative, educational and interactive. I’m delighted to be able to share the content I’ve gleaned from having previously worked to add more than £400M to a PLC business, saved more than 1,400 jobs and set up 4 of my own businesses!
A final word…
This is not a light hearted, fluffy after dinner speech. This is a grab the audience by the scruff of the neck and give it a good shake, kind of empowerment that makes everyone STOP, and think differently about them and their effectiveness in EVERYTHING they do!
Jam packed with Golden Nuggets and practical application giveaways, this is a must for those seeking the inspiration and means to GET BIG or GO HOME!

I’ve just finished hearing Jay Allen deliver his Get Big or Go Home speech at the London ExCel Arena.

REALLY spoke to me and my business right now. I’m going to develop a game called U.N. Bingo as a result of Jay’s last slide, it really did make me think. We think we’re doing good in our business but are we really doing good? I love the suggestion of unlimited holidays – but can we really do that?…
Allen is as motivating on stage and he was motivated to succeed within my Regiment. He has intrinsically linked the success we shared in Bosnia & Kosovo, with the success he is now demonstrating within his own business. Having recently presented his ‘Battlefield2Boardroom’ speech to both Junior Officers & Senior Non-Commissioned Officers as part of a resettlement conference, his understanding and humorous interpretation of transferable and non-transferable skills was the highlight of the entire event – Well done

I loved the definition of what an entrepreneur is, and made me consider if I’m an Entrepreneur or a Business Owner! There was SO much great stuff Jay shared, I’m going to mull on that and not be as concerned about how people perceive me. I thoroughly recommend Jay to anyone looking to SCALE their business.
Jay recently spoke at an event I hosted as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week. His speech immediately captured the audience, as he carefully guided them on a journey of self discovery. It was truly an amazing presentation, filled with emotion, enthusiasm and MANY easy to use ‘take aways’ for us to implement. He gave an ‘above and beyond presentation from start to finish and the effect he had on everyone present was almost hypnotic, enabling people to realise their own goals, current hurdles and most importantly how to smash through them to achieve.

Jay Allen has me in tears, and he had hardly begun
I only wish I’d met and listened to Jay 20 years ago. Within minutes of walking onto stage I knew he had been sent to speak to me! Every word he said resonated SO much with me right now, I was in tears as I realised all the errors I’ve been making within my business! He even stopped and offered me his handkerchief. By the end of the presentation he received an ovation, as EVERYONE in the auditorium recognised how much he had borne his soul as he shared his own harrowing journey to show us how silver linings are in the centre of every grey cloud. – Thank you, thank you, thank you.
